Student Performance OpportunitiesIt is the mission of the Members of the Toledo Piano Teachers Association to collaborate with and share their love of music with members of the community. In 2019 they partnered with the University of Toledo Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Matthew Forte to present Camille Saint-Saens "Carnival of the Animals." Members of TPTA paired with their students to perform the two piano work with a small chamber ensemble. The event was a huge success, inspiring our group to prepare a Chamber Music Festival for the Spring of 2020.
Over the years, we have partnered with Sylvania Children's Wonderland and most recently with the Franklin Park mall to provide a weekend of Christmas Recitals. The performances take place on a grand piano, graciously provided by our affiliate members at Craig's Keyboards. Events like these help us to expose the public to our talented students, giving them the opportunity to experience the importance of music education. Additionally, The Toledo Piano Teachers Association is proud to be part of the University of Toledo - Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series. During the academic year, visiting professors conduct masterclasses and perform a recital. These events are free and open to the public. Our teachers provide students for the masterclasses, publicity for the class and recital and provide refreshments for the reception following the performance. Masterclasses are also hosted through Craig's Keyboards featuring local piano experts allowing students and teachers to make connections with our rich local music experience. These opportunities are available to the students of all our members. |
Year End RecitalThe end of the year celebration and recital features members and students of members followed by a luncheon.
